Let’s talk more about that lava cake.
That was my first attempt at a lava cake. I was told they were pretty easy and that's why you find them in so many restaurants. I have to say, it was pretty simple.
The ganache is just melted chocolate and heavy cream mixed and frozen in a bowl.
Then melt some butter and chocolate together
beat eggs and brown sugar together
Mix egg mixture with chocolate mixture, then add flour
fill bottom of ramekin. Ice cream scoop ganache in the middle, fill the rest of the ramekin
bake for 11 minutes.
That's it. You can pre-make each mixture before you even start cooking and dump it in the ramekins when everyone is finishing their meal. 11 minutes later you can impress some guests with a gourmet looking meal. That tastes pretty good. And homemade whipped cream sets everything off. 1 Cup of cream, 4 tablespoons powdered sugar, and a teaspoon of vanilla. Beats the hell our of cool whip. [list]
