Managed to get in a hunt between the storms. Was out over 4 hours, but most of that time was in the truck, waiting for the rains to pass. I had an hour out on this one property before the rains hit again. I had killed 25 skunks there this year already, all within a couple hundred yards of the owners' house. Out in the field west of the house, I could have gone after another 6 or 7 after I finished the ones I got, but the rains put an end to that. I don't know why he has so many skunks, more than any other property I hunt.

Just wondering- Do the skunks spray after you shoot them? Often times, yes. I would say that it happens most of the time. I have it documented in several videos. It is a natural perimortem (at/near time of death) defensive response in skunks.

I sure like shooting the armadillos with 204 ruger 39gr bking. Too me skunks smells like money. Take a needle pulls the stuff out. Not to bad price per oz for it.

I posted this thread in March. Killed close to 40 skunks since the start of the new year. I don't think I have seen a skunk there in the last 2 months. Landowner says he still has the occasional armadillo. I haven't seen on there in the last 5 visits. Overall, he seems pleased.
