from time to time, it is interesting how the body heals itself. End of January I was cleaning my back patio off and dropped one of the 35lb dumbells on my finger, said a few choice words and finished my backyard duties. It is also interesting to see people squirm over pictures of a little mishap. Yeah I had that happen as a kid, I still remember the pain, but it was neat to see how the body heals.

Been there done that, usually drill the nail with a very small drill bit to relieve prs. Have had to squeeze injured finger in vise in order to do it a few times. Sure feels better after I quits hurting..........

Did that with a pinky nail when I was about eight. Pretty sure it would take several times longer to heal these days. You don’t realize how tender the spot under your nail is until you don’t have one.

Been there done that, usually drill the nail with a very small drill bit to relieve prs. Have had to squeeze injured finger in vise in order to do it a few times. Sure feels better after I quits hurting.......... I have drilled many a fingernail that has been squished or hit with a hammer. Almost instant relief when the blood squirts out. I have seen several folks heat up the end of paper clip and burn thru the nail, tried that once and it hurt as bad as the hammer strike.

Yep. If you work with your hands a lot, you have a lost a fingernail/toenail - likely several times. Live and learn how to TRY to avoid doing it again
