Was in academy today, and they were completely sold out of all 22, 9mm, 40, 223. Not a single AR or semi automatic anything on the shelf, and all the cheaper pump shotgun and even the semi autos were completely sold out..

What a silly time to be alive, cannot find toilet paper, or ammo, half the grocery store is bought out schools closed..

It’s truly sad

I think all of those fine folks that bought up the TP, decided they need to guard their stash, and realized them didn't have any ammo, so back they go to the local sporting goods store and buy up all of the ammo too. I sure would hate to see a war over toilet paper, but they are pushing buttons. If this keeps up there want be any corn cobs left in the state. Not to mention wheel weights, or lead billets, oh wait that was out lawed years ago.

I was getting low on several calibers, and ordered about 1300 rounds of assorted ammo on Friday just to top off for range use. Got lucky and timed it just right. By Friday night places were selling out. In hindsight wish I had ordered about 3x as much, but I’ll have enough to get by.

I stocked up some the last 3 years because I never wanted to deal with the Obama years again. Haven't bought anything since the panic but I'm well stocked to be able to enjoy shooting the next few years without worrying.

I almost think there’s a new batch of first timers every time this happens

But after the $400 AR for $2,000 run a few years ago I’d thought we had ran out of them

I’ve been stocked for years

Actually I was completing a sale of something I had a while, got there a little early and thought I’d walk around and see what they had..

I hand load for the most part, about the only loaded ammo I buy is 12ga, and 22 but here lately I’ve been buying sk which is mail order only.

I don't know if I'd be called a hoarder or not (probably so by some). I recently sold off a good bit of my ammo stash, sure wish now I had not. I figured Trump was a shoe in and ammo prices would stay low for the immediate future. Boy was I wrong. Oh well, I still have a crapton of the stuff.

I noticed at the Academy store in Burleson Sunday morning, that all of defensive rounds of 12 GA such as 00 buck and slugs were all but gone, but they had a lot of bolt gun ammo such as 243, 270, 30-30,.308, 30-06, 300 Win MAG, 45-70 etc. There was however a little defensive rounds of 9mm, 40 cal, 38 special pistol ammo; but did have 45 ACP and some 380 Auto still left. Guns were selling like hot cakes. I had to stop there to pickup some camo shirts; and yes it was a mad house. hammer

Is Sweet corn cobs smoother than field corn cobs? Asking for a friend.

This topic has been discussed here several times over the last couple of years. Ammo has been readily available for a long time.
We know that there will always be a next panic.

It was bound to happen. Anything that prompts people to fear a pending zombie apocalypse is sure to create run on ammo.

Just a few weeks ago Cabelas had 9mm for 8.99 for a box of 50. Wish I had bought some but really don't need it. I have enough for at least a year. Buy it cheap and stack it deep.

I took it to heart last go-round. I have enough to last me until I can't see anymore. I even have ammo for guns I don't own- yet.

I have not bought any primers in a few years so if I see some cheap I might buy some LR.... although I don't think I am down to the 150,000 threshold where I get nervous.

Yeah when what they really need is a leather racing suit and a good piece of 1/2" rebar with a pointy end. laugh
