In my observation the average native mature whitetail doe, in the Texas Hill Country/Edwards Plateau area probably field dresses around 80lbs. I know that there are smaller and larger ones, that's a pretty good average. What would the average weight of an Axis, fallow, Japanese sika and black buck doe be? Thanks, captdavid

I've never shot a Sika but from what I've seen, you should expect the average doe to be smaller than an average WT doe. I would say average axis and fallow mature does are bigger than an average WT doe in the Hill Country, maybe by 10-15 lbs dressed? Blackbuck does are MUCH smaller, I would think a mature BB doe would dress out at maybe 45-50 lbs?
