I just bought a new Leupold VX5-HD for my Remington 700 in 7mmMag and I am looking for recommendations on rings. The scope has a 30mm tube.

I asked a similar question in the Optics forum and only got two responses I'm hoping more people see this post.

Thanks in advance for your input.

Last time I bought rings TPS was by far the best value for the money. Imthereasondovesmourn covered it 100%. That why you only got 2 responses.

I have often wondered about TPS. I see mixed reviews online when I was looking for alternatives to Badger rings.

Burris aluminum tactical rings are plenty good enough IMO.....

I recently went with the NF Ultralite’s and like them. They are proud of them though.

I've never owned any NF rings, but I have no doubt they're quality units.

I have that scope on a CTR with Warne Rings. A lot of hard use, great field results.

Thanks everyone. I failed to mention that this rifle would be used strictly for hunting so I will have it in the field rather than on a bench.

When in doubt, buy Leupold!

Their MK4 steel were bombproof-- literally.... but they weighed in HEAVY. Never had ring marks or issues but their are much better 7075 options!

No doubt. One shot on a trophy buck is more important than all the shots I've ever put on a steel plate or paper target.

Just out of curiosity, what effect does a picatinny rail have on cartridge ejection when the bolt is cycled?
