A few people then a Sheriffs Deputy. Cat does not seem over aggressive in its attack, what do you think?

Well, if I have a mountain lion on top of me I'm going to assume it has bad intentions.

That cat wasn't playing with them and that video does not show the entire attack. It attacked several people in that RV park.
Any time a big cat is willing to attack a person in broad daylight something is not right.
Colorado has a very healthy mt lion population that has no fear of humans, they have killed joggers and small children.
I'm guessing you have never had a mt lion's paws in your hands, the claws are quite the killing tools.
The necropsy will show if it was starving, hungry or had a health issue. I'm betting it was trying to stalk pets and ran into people defending them.

Many years ago I worked with a guy who raised some “wild” animals. He brought a small mountain lion to school one time on a leash. Cat was “tame.” The cat maybe weighed 50 pounds. All was fine until the cat became focused on one girls jacket and went after it. Not the kid, the jacket. Let me tell you a 50 pound juvenile cat is crazy strong. It took 3 grown men to control, that may be wrong word, the cat and get the girl out of the jacket. When he walked the cat back to his truck it was still holding onto the jacket.

From that clip I would assume that cat was raised by humans, it was very healthy, it did not once claw at the cop or even open it's mouth to use it's teeth. not normal.
I have heard of some mean Cougars at an RV park though. grin

High school friend of mine's dad had an African lion as a pet when he was a kid. They had it on a chain. It would have neighborhood dogs for lunch so they eventually had to get rid of it.

That clip doesn't show the entire encounter. It attacked other people first and did use it's claws and teeth. Doubt very seriously it was raised by people. The deputy and another were sent to hospital for treatment and released.
Colorado has high number of incidents of animals such as bears and mt lions showing up in towns. They are looking for easy food and usually find it.

yeah, I wouldn't want to play or wrestle with a mountain lion ... Isn't the bobcat and coyote population growing around DFW? might be seeing more attacks in metro areas ...

Fair enough. But what if it is a cougar that is on top of you?

Since it had rabies I presume they lose their usual fear of man, I wonder is how that effects the normal method of attacking for it seemed to me as I said earlier that it did not appear to be that vicious of an attack that one would expect of an predator like that.
Also surprised it was only 91 lbs, looked bigger than that to me.
