Had some prime waygu ribeyes tonight. Wife says that I cooked hers very rare. I said it was medium or slightly medium rare. Either way it looks perfect to me. What say the forum?

That's a good looking ribeye but it's just a little too rare for me.

That's on the rare side of medium rare, but it looks GOOD.

Fantastic, cranked the traeger up to high and had great results.. Central market on Westgate has them on sale. Side note they have swordfish steaks on sale for 16$/lb which imo is some of the best eating fish out there.

Cook it to 135* internal and you can't screw it up. Looks good to me.

Looks real good, but I prefer mine a little more on the rare side. I like cooking steak for me and people who eat a steak like me, just wounded enough to slow it down to get a bite. And my mom and mother in law burn it. Anything in the middle is too big a pain in the azz and its never right. My FIL likes "medium well" I don't think ive ever seen him cut into a steak and be happy with how it was cooked.

I figured out a good get around if you have family or friends that have an "aversion" to rare/medium rare steak... After you cook it and let it rest a bit, go ahead and slice it, then stir it in it's own juices right on the dish or cutting board where it rested before you present it... The juices will mask the color enough to avoid the judgements... I grill whole wt backstrap to rare and then do this... works great!

...and if that doesn't work, hand them a piece of jerky!!

yep ... I have finally gotten my wife to go with medium rare where she used to prefer medium well, her mom only goes well done, so I don't fix her steaks any longer.
