North Central Texas. Somervell county. This cedar is probably 4-5" diameter.

Noticed this last weekend. Any ideas as to what might do this?

Yes, scrapes are on the ground and rubs are on trees. I get what you are asking though, and this is most likely a pig rubbing just like they do on creosote telephone poles in east TX.

I've got the same exact rub on one of my cedars. Starts at ground level. Big buck made that.

Thanks for the replies. We haven't seen any other signs of pigs, there are no cattle on the property, nor exotics. It's a low fence place.

Maybe a big buck, we've seen a couple of big for the area buck on trail cams, but didn't see them in real life this season.
