Is there a proper procedure for putting your collars to bed until next season? I usually just stick them in a case but have some trouble in the fall getting a couple to take a charge. Read something, somewhere, perhaps here, that de-charging then re-charging before putting the unit up is the way to go but after a google search, cant confirm. One site I was checking last night mentioned de-charging was really hard on batteries. These are Tri-Tronics, both older and new (G3 & Alpha etc)
Thanks all -

Best laid plans.................... I ended up leaving mine in the tote.

Continue using them when running dogs so they stay in shape

Tritronics told me just to keep them plugged in when not using it after I had a battery replaced

I've never stored them for longer than a month or so because we still use them for training in the off season.

Haven't had it in years but never spit any out. I am a sucker for happy endings and strapped cowboys.

Charge them every couple of months whether they need it or not.

You reminded me that it's time to pull batteries from everything, head lamps, flashlights, etc.
