I just picked up a .224 Valkyrie off TGT . Seems like a cool little round and I know some think it's pointless caliber.Just wondering if anybody uses for hogs and thoughts. .
thanks, Dan

Shot placement on that first pig was awesome.... Looks like a very effective little round....

90 gr Fusions. I really don't care for Fusions but there aren't any Hornady SST's out there and so they get the job done. The sow with the guts coming out was running away quartered and she piled up on the first shot. I sent a second round but wasn't necessary. Every hog here and the 2 boars were all running shots, the 2 boars did not drop on sight but both were dead w/in 40 yds.of first strike. i don't often get standing shots when stalking river bottoms.

My night hunting rig is now a 224 V. I'm running the 75 grain ELDM's at 3002 fps in a 22" suppressed AR barrel. It has done well for me so far on my night hunts. Plus, I've taken it out to 1K yards already.
