Anyone had issues with the ranch king mighty buck 600 lb corn feeder? A few guys on my lease have bought them, including me, and after a month or so, they stop spinning. The timer seems to engage the motor, but the plate doesn’t spin.

Did you check the set screw to be sure it is tight against the motor shaft?

Yes, have checked everything. It’s not just mine that stopped working. Couple of others as well.

Maybe a bad batch of motors. Did you contact ranch king and tell them and see what they would do? They should be a stand up company for support.

You need to try and jumper the motor to see if the motor spins first, if it does then its the timer, if it does the same thing its the motor. Another thing folks tend to think isn't the issue is the battery, a low battery can still show good on the indicator of the timer, once the timer activates it'll drop to 1-2 bars and not spin the motor. Voltage can be good, but it won't have the amps to operate the motor. Check those few things before you make a call. There was a batch of bad timers as well, call them and give them the serial number.

We are running 8 of the Ranch Kings and have not experienced that issue. So far (knock on wood) they have been trouble-free for a ~year. The posters above have given good advice on trouble shooting: go direct to the motor with a known good battery to isolate the motor from timer.

Had one and it was perhaps the worst feeder I've ever owned. It constantly clogged up and the solar panel on top apparently wasn't sealed as it set on the lid causing enough water to infiltrate and ruin the battery along with all the wiring. It did however make for great target practice.
