Like Night Force, I doubt there is a "bad" S & B scope.

SHV's will track dependably Had a few out over the years. I have not seen a problem yet.

If this is a hunting scope and you won't be dialing for elevation, the S&B would be the obvious choice because it likely has the edge on image quality in low light conditions. But the SHV has great glass and the mechanical repeat-ability is something you can depend on without blowing out a budget. The compromise you'll make is overall package; it's a long scope and the turrets are pretty tall. Then again, the S&B you're looking at is probably no smaller or lighter (I'm not sure exactly which one you're talking about.)
