When the kids of friends, neighbors and coworkers (or their parents) ask you to buy raffle tickets, cookies or candy to support their ball team or other sports or social organizations, would it be fair to ask their parents to buy your kid a box of ammo because he doesn't play sports or belong to a social organization but does enjoy hunting?

If you can't laugh at yourself, give me a call. I'll gladly laugh at you.

We don't respond positively to requests made by parents.

I used to trade what my kid was selling for what thier was kid was selling.

If the 2nd amendment was written just to include guns for hunting, why is there not an amendment to protect fishing poles?

It’s fair, but it might not get a reaction that makes it seem that way.

If kids cannot (they need to learn how) ask then I politely let parents know I support kids and my church.

OP, I like your style

I have never seen the level of "fundraising" as I saw last year. On the Facebook, they had calendars that you paid the amount for the day (If you picked the 1st, you paid a dollar, if you picked the 20th, you paid $20) There was no raffle or any reward for doing such. This was for cheer leading uniforms, little league tournaments, etc. I am all for donating to kids but this just seemed extremely lazy and cheap. If you want to put your kid in select baseball from the time he is 5, that is your decision. Just on't ask for handouts just because you are not willing to make a life style change. What happened to car washes and kids actually having to work to obtain their goals. I do not mind helping a kid be involved in a sport but at least make the kid put a little effort into accomplishing the task. If a kid needs help so he can join a team, I will gladly let him help me with my lawn care and pay him well for doing such.

You could just tell them no. I do it all the time. Not even the Girl Scouts can break me.

We buy girl scout cookies from some kids we know and fundraiser stuff from nephews and other family but that is about it.

I don't know if what your suggesting would be fair or not but likely wouldn't get a positive response. Id probably say sure you want to fill my truck up with diesel?

Saw in the morning paper that they are now soliciting online.
