Going to try my hand at smoking beef ribs. Where is the best place in the Dallas area to buy them?

Sams has them ( I think).

Costco's down here have them, so probably have them up there as well.

SAMS has them pretty well all the time, but if you want them uncut you may have to ask for it. Some HEB's carry them, mine doesn't but the one by my parents house has them all the time.

Don't remember ever having them. Only pork for me. These came from 407.

What you want is a Choice or higher, beef chuck bone in short rib.

Trust me on this one.

yeah, the ribs in the store look nothing like those at a bbq shack.

I tried Beef Ribs as part of my last two Baby Back smokes. I'll take the Baby Back's all day long over Beef Ribs.

Walmart had some that around 3", like brisket on a stick

good beef ribs are almost at the top of my food chain ... hard to find the dino ribs like some BBQ places sell for a small fortune...

I get mine at HEB.

If you're talking "Dino Ribs" like you get at the BBQ places, plate ribs are the most desirable. These are pretty hard to come by unless you have a good butcher. Chuck ribs are going to be the best bet from the grocery store, not back/finger ribs. Chuck ribs are still somewhat scarce but they really start to show up in stores around the holidays (along with the prime ribs, rack of lamb, etc.). With Easter coming up they should start getting easier to find.

I normally get them at Sam's. If I'm at the butcher for other meat I'll sometimes get ribs but I don't make a special trip.

I'll be smoking beef and pork ribs, maybe this weekend.

Never understood buying ribs..........youre buying bone weight. Give me a chuck eye steak medium.

To add to that..........Madison avenue sold ya ribs and chicken wings..........that's what was thrown to the dogs.

In fact white meat on chickens and turkeys is nasty too.

Feed people some good meat, not messy garbage you eat with your fingers and gets stuck in your teeth.

I prefer spare ribs. So tasty.

What's wrong with finger foods?

We only buy country style ribs.

Plan on having a shindig whenever it dries up. Got another 2" this morning.
