https://www.foxnews.com/us/colorado-dog-attack-disturbing-footage-video-churchThree adults jumped in to help get the dog off the girl, who reportedly sustained moderate puncture wounds to her left bicep and forearm, requiring immediate medical attention. The owner, who was arrested and charged with unlawful ownership of a dangerous animal, euthanized the dog after the attack. Authorities did not release the names of the girl or the dog owner. The Human Society of the Pikes Peak Region (HSPPR) is adding the video to its "Bite Blotter," to help the community keep track of pet bites. Warning

23 seconds to get dog off of the child. I cannot imagine what that was like for the kid or the mother.
That child will be terrified of dogs for life.
We all need to practice Whoa more.

Hope that little girl heals mentally and physically soon. Can you imagine if that little girl had been by herself without adults close by, that dog would have killed her.

Notice the dog ignored the adults and went after the child. I can't believe the mother didn't pick up the child at the first sight of the dog.

The pit should be banned from being a domesticated animal in proximity to human beings. People who own them have some rather peculiar short coming in their personality. The horrid scene of this little girl being attacked is repeated over and over with horrendous regularity.Below is the statistical FACTS as to these killers which is repeated annually.
The combination of pit bulls (25), rottweilers (1) and bullmastiffs (2) accounted for 88% of all dog bite-related fatalities. this breed is about 7% of the total dog population and accounts for 88% of all human deaths. This speaks for it's self.
I am prepared for the baseless attacks as to my fervent belief in the elimination of this breed. The arguments are predictable Oh it's just how they're raised or it's the owners fault or the poor dog was intimidated. the breed was developed for war and fighting in pits and cannot help it's innate disposition to attack.
It is so sad that anyone would own one of these time bombs.
The really sad thing is the owners are killed by this breed only about 20% of the time. If we could get that stat up we'd get rid of the breed by natural attrition

I don’t understand this. The dog clearly ignored several adult sized humans and went straight at the child. If the dog was trained to be aggressive, would it ignore the full size humans? Did it consider the child another dog? I strive to understand dogs. I’m pretty good at knowing what they want, so I ask myself, what did this dog want? I’ve always been a problem solver. I’ve always been a dog lover. The Pit Bull Terrier problem has always puzzled me. The breed was not developed to be aggressive, in fact, I believe it was originally bred to be protective of small humans. I’m not going to admonish you guys that scream ‘kill them all’. That’s a natural reaction to something that really scares us humans, and there’s few things more scary that an attack dog. It’s a big problem for us and we don’t understand what’s happening, so it scares us. And we don’t know how to fix it. Two things I know, there is a solution to every problem, and there are no ‘bad dogs’. If you analyze a problem and collect enough data, the solution becomes evident. Every time, no exceptions. If you treat a dog with kindness, it is repaid with something that looks a lot like love. Every time, no exceptions. So, I’m going to analyze this problem. In fact, I’m 90 days in on data acquisition. I introduced Gracie, an 80 pound female Pit Bull Terrier to my great three dog pack. They accepted her immediately. Gracie passed her first test. I also introduced Gracie to my home and two alpha humans. Gracie immediately bonded to the alpha female human. She was much more cautious bonding to the alpha male human, but she definitely did. Gracie passed her second test. I will continue to learn from Gracie and maybe someday I will have my ‘AH HA!’ moment. So far, I’ve come to realize - She really, really wants to communicate with me. She’s very intense with eye to eye contact and vocals. I can talk to her and she understands, so she wants to talk to me. Her vocabulary consists of moans, squeals and whines with the occasional bark. She is insecure. When something sets off the pack, she doesn’t run and bark with them, she stays with me. I see no aggression in her. She is very friendly. DJ is an 11 yo kid that does chores for us three times a week. I was with him when he first saw Gracie. His initial reaction was ‘there’s a pit bull in your yard!’ One minute later, DJ had a new best friend. My neighbors reaction to meeting her was immediately negative. ‘I’ll never trust this dog!’ One hour later he was getting kisses from a dog he would never trust. I’m going to continue learning from Gracie. If any of y’all want to learn from her, come over, I’ll introduce you.

I think it straight for the child because it's a predator and it picked the easiest one to overpower and kill.

If any of y’all want to learn from her, come over, I’ll introduce you. the APBT requires an owner who will carefully socialize and obedience train the dognot good for novice owners not good to be left alone. Pitbulls are working dogs and trying to make them a lap dog will lead to bad behavior. Pitbulls are largely bred in back yards for aggressiveness. IMO pit bulls are working dogs and should be treated as such, not doing this leads to the majority of issues.

I believe you’re on to something with novice owners.
I think is maybe a good place for red flag dog laws. Aggressive dogs are more dangerous than guns and should be removed from their owners homes and relocated to a better environment.

Cast Gracie is a beautiful gal I am not a fan of Pitbulls and would not own one. I also do not demonize them either for most of the bad ones are a product of their environment (Bad Owners). I also know several people who have Pits and they are sweet dogs and have no fear around them. My greatest concern with Pits is their tenaciousness, once they decide to attack it is almost impossible to stop them without killing them. Again I personally would not own one, but to each their own
