The precision rifle looks interesting. And they're offered in 6.5 PRC! Pricing isn't too bad either at $1600 and $1700. They are on pre-sale at Europtic. I like the adjustable trigger and stock. I also like the machined in picatinny rail. I'd like to put hands on one to see what they feel like but seems like a solid rifle.

They had it at Shot Show but it was inside a darkly tinted glass box with a countdown timer for the release date. You could make out what it looked like but there were no details given nor could you hold it. Looks like a nice rifle.

I won't bet against it, probably will outshoot most people that buy it.

Glad they incorporated some better ergonomics to Sako's already great features.

0 degree rail...... they claim both hunters and shooters, should have 20 degree rail.

They probably shouldn’t say “It's designed for active shooters who want to take and stay in control in every situation”

Pricing isn’t too bad for a Sako either.

Magazines are composite, so all of the "plastic mag" ID10Ts that gripe about Tikka mags will complain about this too.

I am not sure why they are offering the "precision" rifle in 270win. Not many .270 caliber bullets that perform at distances. Maybe the .277 Fury from Sig will help with that, but I won't hold my breath. Also would have liked to see shorter barrels on the .243, .308 and 6.5 Creedmoor as using them with a suppressor and a 24" barrel will make for a looooonnnnngggg gun, even with short cans.

I’m betting that is about to change as the military transitions to 6.8

Military going to 6.8 SPC has zero to do with twist rate of the .270. If Sako and everyone else keep the same twist rate in .270 that has always been applied to it. We got heavier, higher BC .277" bullets last year. It doesn't automatically mean the .270 rifles will be twisted to run them.

Agreed. I’m betting it won’t be long till we start seeing more good .277” bullets available though, along with rifles to shoot them. Including faster twisted 270’s. A fast twist 270 ackley would have potential....
