Everyone talks about great BBQ spots, and we don’t have one close to where we live (Groesbeck). Just isn’t fair. Limestone County has 3 places, and they aren’t bad, but neither are they very good. Went to the new one today, near Mexia. Meat and beans had little flavor and the BBQ sauce was thin and nothing special. Just plain sad. Maybe I’m too picky because I’ve had really good BBQ, so I can compare.
We’ve had a couple of good places over the years, but they closed far various reasons.
I hear there’s one in Bremond, so we’ll go there next, and hope.
If you know of a good place near Groesbeck, point me in that direction.

Just saw that the bullet train is on its way. Just relax and enjoy the ride.

The wife does all our cooking, and her ribs and brisket are terrific. But, going out from time to time is good, and lowers her cooking load.
And, Waco is 40 miles away, so I want something closer.

Groholski’s is in Bremond. They get good reviews, but so did the place we ate at today, so it means nothing till I give it a try. Whup’s in Marlin is maybe 17 miles from me, but I can never catch them open when I’m able to go there.

Just saw that the bullet train is on its way. Just relax and enjoy the ride. You mean when he has to drive a few hours to get on it, sure sounds like a great idea.

Decent BBQ is few and far between outside of Hill country. 407 is my favorite and is close, so not bad for me....but it isn't uncommon to not have decent BBQ available anywhere close. Nothing between 407 and Wichita Falls worth having....and if 407 is a 9.9 then the Branding Iron in Wichita Falls is tolerable at a 6.1.

Get yourself a smoker and start cooking your own. Always cook extra, vacuum seal for leftovers. This. I can't buy Q as good as I have learned to smoke. I don't buy much cooked food anymore. I like my BBQ, Fish, steaks, chicken, pork and turkeys better than anyone else's so far.
