So...criticizing Superduty is "looking for the best" in him? confused2

Loved my MIL part of the reason I married her daughter along with the fact that the rest of the family was happy, Christain and well adjusted. Wish she was still with us.

I don't disagree with you all but not to the financial ruin of herself. She died with nothing because she had given it all away. I could not possibly care less because I didn't nor expected anything from her, but it was sad....in the end, we were paying her cable bill because she cut it off because she said couldn't afford it. She couldn't afford it because they had sucked her dry. Sad really.

I know I wasn't clear in what I meant by enabling, but I get what y'all are saying and more power to the grandparents out there spoiling their grandkids.....if they are able.

Yeah, that’s a different thing than what I had in mind. I hate to hear of that sort.

There is scum everywhere that will take every advantage of any kind soul, with absolutely no regard for the grantor's well being and they couldn't care less. But...I try to think the best of people. laugh

She’s a witch. 4 kids and treats 2 of them like crap because they’re from a previous marriage. She pretty much hates me because I don’t listen to her crap when she runs her mouth at my house. I tell her how it is and invite her to leave if she don’t like it. I do start out everyday that I see her being nice to her. Her choices from there dictates my behavior.

Only complaint I have about mine is her advanced stage dementia. She was super sweet the first few years, but the past 2-3 years her dementia has dramatically taken over. Pretty sure she doesn't know who we are, but we try to make the best of it when we visit. It's pretty sad, and our boys are way to young to understand what's going on. All I have to say is my FIL is one hell of a man. He takes excellent care of her.

My MIL is 97 and has lived with us for a few years now. My only real complaint, and it's not her fault, is this last year she has really gone down in health and has taken my wife (and hunting partner) away from me. Wife is scared to leave her side as it might happen when she's away.
