I remember years ago when my Grandma had Lasik. I went to visit her a couple months after and she was wearing her glasses. I asked her if the surgery didn't work and she said that it worked great. I asked why she was still wearing her glasses and she said, "Because without them no one recognizes me." roflmao

She had lived in this same town of about 500 people for over 40 years... Everyone knew Grandma.

Love my 15-20 pair of Readers, and the $9. per pair (after the 40% off coupons) is very comfortable, loose em or break em, who cares.
However the VA gives me awfully nice ones every couple years

Started to need then in 4th grade but never really wore until I got contacts at 18. Wore hard contacts for like 25 years before switching to gas permeable. Never even owned glasses until I started to need readers near 50
. Since needing readers with corrected vision I just wear glasses on weekends unless hunting. I can read fine and normally do with glasses off. I think if you get contacts go we'd with the gas permeable if you can. A set can last 5 years easy with no vision change and proper care. Never had an eye problem. Daughter wears soft and has one every couple of years.

Got Lasik in 2003, so distance is great. Reading glasses required since I turned about 43 - 44.

Just got home from two week follow up visit on left eye lasik cataract surgery. Solid 20/20 in left eye, and 20/15 in right eye(had surgery on it five weeks ago) . Left eye should improve even more like right eye has. Amazing to wake up and not have to find glasses to be able to see. up

Computers and phones have killed my close up sight. Doc said I still have 20/20 vision, just tired eyes so I have prescription readers.

For distance only. Tried progressives but never could get used to them. Best move I ever made was to find a place that was as good at repairing and getting replacement parts for glasses as they are at selling new ones. The vast majority are only interested is selling new ones.
