Just curious, what do the local DU and Delta chapters do locally to promote duck hunting, duck mgmt, duck habitat and generally speaking anything regarding waterfowl?

Different chapters have different things. A lot do nothing more than adopt a pothole or send the money to the national corp, you'd have to contact your local chapter and see what they have in play.

Delta works to get more public access for hunting and DU works to improve habitat even in wintering areas.

Were in Texas.....as much as I love the state for many other reasons waterfowl is a thug step stepchild headed to prison. Public is public, enough said on that. Private land is the deer hunting child thats going to Harvard or Yale.

We should all band together and harass TP&WD to manage some of our public lands like Arkansas does theirs.

Probably because they want any federal funds that are made available they have to play along with what ever bunch of morons are in charge at the time. I believe in global warming, a few thousand years ago glaciers extended deep into North America, global warming happened and the ice reseeded, proof of global warming. I'm sure mammoth farts were the cause

The Chapter here in Hunt County doesn't do a lot other than the annual banquet/fundraiser night. March 5, 2020 if anybody is interested.
I have heard that they do some things geared more towards the Greenwing side to get kids interested.

Most of the guys I hunt with have access to private land and we work to enhance that.

That was kinda the point of me starting this topic. Why cant local chapters help lobby TPW to do more for ducks on public grounds. Would love to see DU, Delta and TPW work together to do more for waterfowl locally for the public land hunter. Grass restoration on area lakes that the grass carp, prolonged droughts and flooding have killed. The bass fisherman would be all for this as well and would contribute significant funds. Flying in millet or smart weed when conditions permit. Building and placing wood duck boxes, trash clean up on local public areas, habitat restoration, local banding programs for volunteers to participate in, working to get hunters access to additional public land, ect.

I dont know, it's just disappointing to see how little the state of Texas and local duck organizations do for the general public.

Most of their improvements are centered around the coastal areas. They do have projects throughout the state but the coast is where most of the work has been done. Deer hunting will always be priority in Texas, especially with the industry it has become, high fencing, breeding, etc. (I’m not against any of that). Couple that with the fact that a large margin of Texas is privately owned.

They send money to the national organization.
