I saw a post earlier where a fellow THF'er got a great deal on a Tikka at a site I hadn't heard of before. Any of you upstanding folks willing to share some of your honey-holes you frequent to look for deals?

Gun.deals will get expensive. Trust me.

Absolutely: "gun.deals" is the best I've seen but you usually need the actual Model # of the item you are looking for. Good for guns and accessories.

I don't like the new website. I liked the "grab a quote" function on the old site.

Whittaker's is great.

I've bought a few at Grab a gun. It happens to be close, so I pick up at their store front, pay no shipping or FFL xfer. If you can do this their prices are really hard to beat.

Another thing about Grab A Gun, great selection. I don't now their business model, but I get the feeling they've got an unlimited number of wholesalers. They do offer some specials from time to time, but for me I decide what I want after doing my research, shop around a bit and check with Grab A Gun last.

You mentioned Tikka. I once got a T3 30-06 from eurooptics for less than $400 shipped to my FFL. It was because the new T3x were coming out and I wanted a donor action so i didn't care about caliber.
Excellent deal, great service was great and they were prompt. I've also purchased a few scopes over the years from them too.

Sportsmans Outdoor Superstore. Multiple purchases, they're a little slow, but have good deals.

There’s not one particular website that has great prices. You will do well to use a website like gun.deals or another sale site. A website might generally have high prices, but mark something down. And prices are wildly different among different websites.

Tried to buy some ammo from Grabagun last night. They've taken down the option to pick up ammo. I emailed them and they confirmed that is no longer an option. I live in Coppell, I'm not paying $13 to have ammo shipped to me. I wonder which brainiac at Grabagun thought that was a good idea.

Not cool. I have picked up ammo from them in the past, decent deal but selection was what sold me on their ammo. I assume you can still pick up guns? I knew this would be a heavy purchase year for me so I paid up at Brownells for their Edge program. Free two day shipping on aything for one year, and free ground shipping on ammo, all unlimited for one year. There's always ship to store at Bass Pro.
