] That makes zero sense.... you literally have to change out rear leafs to put a metal bed on it.......... Maybe they did have to do with that. But when your dad does a lot of work in the bottom of the canyons and only has one leg, he needs something that is very 4x4 capable and something where he can reach tools without climbing in the back. That bed was custom made, and raptor beds sell at a premium too btw. Btw, that flatbed raptor rides much better than the other raptor. Point is you loose a lot of your articulation having to pull the deaver springs off. Essentially you return it back to a stock f150 in the rear

I have a Electronic lockers in my truck currently and had one in my F-150. I personally prefer the Chevy limited slip...its a pain having to Turn off traction control, lock the rear axle and engage 4 wheel drive.
chevy I would just hit the traction control and go...never had any issues.
But, the FX4 truck with the Axle locked in 4Hi is pretty capable offroad for anything you should be driving a diesel 3/4 ton truck thru. Worlds better than my 02' 7.3 4x4. That thing off road was only slightly better than a 1/2 ton in 2 wd. I have both, I hate the chevy. You don’t have to turn off traction control for rear locker to lock, just pull the pull. Chevy your tire literally has to spin like 5 revolutions to get it to kick on. Hell to the no. I know you just pull but if you slip a tire the ford will start braking so you tap the traction control twice and put it in sport mode. My Z71 limited slip worked awesome as does my Tahoe’s limited slip. Doesent take anything to get it to engage My Ltz Suburban and Avalanche suck!! Both are digging way before it kicks in. My f250 traction control only kicks in when I’m gun it. Cruised hundreds of mountain and my ranch roads in 2 wheel with just the rear elocker on and makes huge difference. Regardless you can do all three things(pull elocker, turn 4x4 knob and turn off traction control) with one hand. 99% of the time you know exactly where you are going to spin tires, so much easier just to pull a tab then let her spin and eventually kick in IMO

I like a limited slip in the rear so it’s more useful for every day driving. That’s all. I guess I can live with that. I was waiting for the “front lockers are better since that where the weight is” or some other dumb argument about how the front is the first to into a mud hole so it needs the most traction. The Ford, uses electric lockers, so front and rear lockers are nice Anything but an open diff is fine with me, really.

I saw a guy with a flatbed Raptor in Claude or Clarendon one day. That was a badXXX pickup!
Never been to a camping world. I prefer Dick's to be honest.

My current truck is a Z 71. It has a great hi way ride and gets pretty good fuel mileage. On a bad woods road it is lacking.
