Hunted or I should say, tried to call critters with the great HWY_MAN this past weekend. While we ALWAYS have a great time, wind and tall broomweeds made calling nearly impossible. It is really bad when you call two bobcats up at midday, bright sunshine and I don't see either one. The second one was within ten steps of the caller when I stood up and saw him squirt away. I never saw the first one as he came in or when he walked away...
Hope to get back up there when the wind is not a problem.
Adios,
Gary

Ah, Big Spring. Buried my Grandpa there years ago and haven't been back.

Sometimes it's hard being me! But somebody has to do it.

I always try to stay at the Hotel Settles, truly one of West Texas' most iconic buildings. Makes dealing with the wind and weeds much easier.
Adios,
Gary

Got a damn good lesson in how not to use a set of shooting sticks, but at least you got a good promo for Swagger Bipods.

Total failure on my part, smooth missed about a 60 yard shot. Sunday the wind laid down for about 15 minutes and Gary had two yotes coming in, first one went to my left and the second was right in front of me. I got on the sticks and the sticks started going down hill, shot right over it's back. No joke on the broomweed, walked through one patch that was up to my arm pits.

Yes! A Weatherby does kill them deader.

Broom weed? Sounds like a bad fire season on the horizon.

Iconic, indeed. It’s a neat place to stay.
