Oak, finished naturally, can be gorgeous. Especially when multiple species meet. Here are three species of oak mingling together, capped off by black walnut, with chamfered edges. This is a two board set I made recently.

The larger board is 13 1/2 x 15 1/2 x 1 1/2
The smaller board is 8 x 15 x 5/8
