Mine has not worked in 16 years. She used to work at a bearing and parts store.

Marketing rep. Neck surgery #6 took her out of employment game. It was tough losing that 50K salary and living solely off my income. It took over 5 years to get her approved for permanent disability for SSI.

Mine just went through a major lay-off after 18 years. She was a director of corporate communications and is interviewing in the same line of work now. Fingers crossed, she just had her 4th interview for a real good opportunity.

My better half is Senior Administration Assistant for an engineering and construction company. She will retire in May on her 66th birthday. I'm not sure what she will do after that but she is a high energy person and has talked about some volunteer work in a couple of different endeavors. She has worked hard and deserves retirement. Sure going to miss her salary though. I still raise cattle so my "retirement" will probably be face down in a cow lot.

After staying home for over 10 years when my youngest started school... she went back and graduated.

She makes more than me now....

Mine's a kindergarten teacher in a low income school. I couldn't put up with some of the mess she deals with, and I wont let her stay at school after dark.

My wife stayed home and gave up a career in sales to raise our kids. She later worked full-time as a school teacher before she had enough with unruly kids and parents who should have never had kids and decided to become a substitute. Now she only teaches when and where she chooses.

I can't overlook mentioning that stay-at-home moms often work as hard or harder than women who leave the house every day. In fact, it's the around-the-clock work that goes with being a full-time mom that pushes a lot of women into the paid workforce. I seldom call my wife by her name but by the title she earned through years of sacrifice and dedication to our girls - Mother.

My wife is awesome. She works harder than I ever could. In training, she worked 90-130 hours a week.

She is down to 50-60 hours a week and I take care of the office/house/kids.

My bride was a Game Warden years ago and then we had kids. She retired until the kids got old enough and then went into to teaching. Still working God Bless her.

Mine is a dental hygienist. When 4 kids were young she stayed home. Now their gone and she is back at it.
Recently cut down to two days a week. Will retire in a couple of years. It’s been a great profession for her/us.

My wife is a full-time caregiver for her 97yo mother. In her spare time she cares for me! It's all good.

Mine was a director of a hospital, now works on the family ranch, and raises our two girls ( all at the age of 32). Best decision ever! I won't amount to nearly half she has
