Great unique looking deer.

Really tuff picture to age from. I cant see anything that particularly screams old. Not a lot of staining. If i had to guess id go middle aged and call him 3 and fully expect to be wrong.

My bucks were really run down at the end of the season, more so than I remember the last couple years. I am sure having all the acorn energy allowed them to really keep after it. I say that to only mean he looks younger based on body, but that's very misleading this time of year.

I have found older bucks will put on the gnarly bumps on the bases more so than younger bucks do, so based on that and his facial appearance of more graying, I would say he is probably older rather than younger. Not post mature, but probably 4-5yo rather than 3.

You never know without history but he has too big of eyes, no loose skin under the jaw and his hocks look middle age to me.....

Hocks is about all im going off of. Be neat to hear what everyone thought if the antlers weren't visible.

I had the same knee jerk reaction. Cool looking deer regardless.

I concur as well, he looks like an old deer to me, but still has a really cool rack! Lots of plaque!

Collin? :-)

He has that hair growth on his forehead like a mature deer a lot of gray on the face and those cool looking palmated antlers look like they are on the decline.
Even though it is a bad angle to judge the body, back looks straight, no belly sag, brisket not protruding.

I cannot get past the old looking face and antlers of an old man so I am going to further out on a limb than "Middle Age" rofl and agree with DQ 5 +

If that buck is from near OP's location listed in profile, I'd say it's definitely young as those deer around there often get antlers that look like that at an early age, and when they get old they look OLD and have big bodies that show their age as well.
