I've got about a dozen bobcat hides soft-tanned. My only thoughts are to make either a blanket or a vest for the wife.
Any other thoughts on what to use them for, or who I could get to tailor something out of them?

I have one which was made into a pillow. I stopped into a taxidermy shop in Kerrville a couple years ago. I can't remember the taxidermists name, but they had several furs made into pillows and other items. Maybe they could tell you where they have had some of the work done, or maybe they do it themselves.

12 should make a real nice vest, maybe even a coat. If they are Texas cats then you may need a few more for a coat.

Why not buy some buckskin, make some moccasins and line the cuff with bobcat?

I would use one or more for fur trim on a hooded coat. Looks good on a puffy jacket with a hood. Those Texas cats won't be quite what you see on coats and vests that are sold, just not that much thick fur to 'em but they are very pretty. Glacier wear gets mixed reviews up here for their stuff.

Thanks for the input. I'm fully expecting to need additional cats compared to some of the cats from up north.

I think a few Indian tribes used bobcat to cover arrow quiver- would look cool.
