The people in the north are just as friendly as here. Yes, I was shocked. It appears all the hateful MFers are in the big metropolitan areas. Very happy people in the balance. 47 years old and I always thought otherwise. I can’t stress this enough, happy, inviting, people.
First Amish experience, they cool. Saw many but two guys with crosscut saws, draft horse, and wagon, was surreal. They weren’t posing, they needed wood.
Iowa and Wisconsin take better care of their roads than Minnesota. Probably why they’re angry.
Just because it’s it’s snowing doesn’t mean it’s snowing. The local and the NWS said it wasn’t snowing when it was coming down in my opinion. They said, “it’s gonna snow tomorrow”. Which in fact they got 6-8” today.
The corn belt does not have to use that [censored], 2 of 3 gas pumps up there are ethanol free. They ship it to us.
91 octane is as high as you can get north of Oklahoma. The Ecobeast does not like that with its current tune and the stock tune will not run with all the upgrades.
I saw the headwaters of the Mississippi.
Outback steak house up there is “just kidding”. They don’t know [censored] about steaks.
Did I mention Minnesota sucks at road maintenance.
I walked on a lake yesterday that was froze over and they were prepping part of it for a ice race today with “motorbikes”, not motorcycles.
“Breakfast Meat” is a generic term for bacon, sausage, ham, etc. AKA pork is breakfast meat.
People actually live there on purpose.
Mexican food is as good as their steaks.
I had no idea cranberries were grown in the north.
When they say there’s a bar (pub) on every corner they mean it.
Iowa sells liquor 24/7/365 and the bars close at 3am. I can’t make them understand “blue laws”.
Doin 95 in a 65 is not an issue in Missouri.
Walmart is Walmart.
Where are these people working? There’s no actual industry. Cost of living is higher as expected but so is the pay scale. Walmart stockers there make more than the Queen here and that pisses her off.
5 and no wind is cold, 35 and wind is miserable.
Life there is much simpler and apparently lends to happiness, and a higher suicide rate. Go figure.
There is a thing called “winter sport” and they have parks dedicated to it.
If I was there I would be an ice fisherman, happy, red faced, you figure it out.

Thanks for the synopsis. Bar on every corner is spot on. They know how to drink.

My father in law who was an avid bass fisherman used to go to Wisconsin once every two or three years to fish for Northern Pike with a friend who lived there. He had nothing but good things to say about Wisconsin.

Outback doesn’t know steaks, anywhere. Be careful. This is one-upper to some.

Bar on every corner and a high suicide rate. Fits pretty much what I saw back in Wisconsin back in '69.

I grew up there. You go there for cheese, beer and sausage...not steak and tacos. By the way, if it has a soft tortilla it is a burrito, tacos have hard shells.

I've spent time in both Wisconsin and Minnesota and yep, the people are nice. I like the summers up there but the winters are brutal.
I was wrong...on anything technical. Fitz............. is right, ya know............

Every outdoorsman needs to spend a few weeks up north to experience hunting in a few feet of snow and ice fishing where the ice is thick enough to support a pickup truck. It is an experience I wouldn't trade for anything.

Every outdoorsman needs to spend a few weeks up north to experience hunting in a few feet of snow and ice fishing where the ice is thick enough to support a pickup truck. It is an experience I wouldn't trade for anything. Have lived in both Minnesota & over 30yrs each. Thar B hunting & fishing & then thar B yankee hunten & fishing... " Whin its too cold ta go hunten, we walk on water & go fishing ... " pappy Treacking threw snow, sinking knee deep, just ta get ta hunting area, for a 30minute, (be cold in less than 10), hunt. Colder days we do drive on the ice. Last year, followed bro & his friend, both 4wd. It was snowinging, couldnt tell drifts. Stuck 3ta4 times. Fished few hours, on way back off ice, stuck 8ta9 times & had both stuck at one time. No disrespect ment , tis were say execative hunting & fishing... & were text about me caveman as called by fellow workers at foundry, doing my hog hunts... Early & late ice fishing & inbetween been know ta do old shool using bar on thin ice ta break threw, standing in open. Cold days tis nice ta get out of the wind & ellements... Have done the box stand, feeders, & foid plot hunting... hog hunts tis awesome reason got on leases... 24-7-365 hog hunts... & twas a Blessing whin a WMA opened up down the road... dont have them up here. & know plenty that would go ta do hog hunts.. Cold talk hunt-fishen all day, but like with doing sports in HS, would rather B doing it than chatting about it. This last bit of snow, even though it nice MN thar B very few lakes ta get on do ta road access in 4wd... Again NO disrepect ta anyone in prefferance ta hunting/fishing... Lots of yankee's woul truely enjoy hog hunts... Keep your head held high & your powder dry...
