Easiest way to avoid getting your car stolen these days is to drive a manual transmission.

I've heard some insurance companies actually give a discount for manual transmissions. Anti-theft device.

No basis in fact or personal experience. A friend just mentioned it in general conversation. I didn't take it any further than that. I don't have a stick shift so I kind of blew it off.
