Recently tried to place a mail order with Cabela's and found they have a new policy on black power firearms. Has anyone have any idea why they went this way. It will surely create sales with other internet vendors.
I am so sorry the outfitters that you had spoken with were not able to tell you the new restriction. This was new to all of Bass Pro and Cabela's as of 1/15/2020. "Effective 1/15/2020 all black powder and muzzleloaders will only be available as “In-Store Pick Up”. This includes all online orders and call center orders. Restrictions will be added to all of the affected SKU’s"

Oh, thank God! All those criminals with their black powder guns! Finally taking some "common sense" measures against that dreaded "black powder loophole" What's next, pellet guns?

It's no longer Cabela's anymore its just another Bass Pro Shop which is sad. Trying to make the wrong people happy!

The last time (2017) I ordered from them it would only be delivered with an adult signature. Just stupid. I'm not a fan of Cabelas or Bass Pro.

The last time I looked at a pistol at a Cabelas, the guy behind the counter handed me the pistol, when I asked about the gun, got a blank stare in response.

Cabelas went down hill badly when Bass Pro bought them.
I stopped shopping there. Their inventory now bites and their prices went way up.

I can occasionally find something to use my points on, but it's rare. 'Just hate to get a 3rd credit card. I've unsubscribed from their emails over 30 times. Still get em about twice a week. Sad story all around with the company.

I stopped visiting and buying items from them.
Went one time to get full-on archery equipment. Never seen folks run away so fast.
Went to grab a STX. They said here you go and take a look. No tripod at all and they could not provide one.
Complained to Corporate after the STX fiasco. Was told the store manager would call me. He never did.
BP/Cabelas can go under for all I care.
