Anyone here have any experience with Lone Wolf Alpha Wolf replacement barrels?

Good or bad experiences. Just curious what y'all think of them, thinking about one for my Gen 4 21.

Never heard anything bad about them. You must shoot a LOT

I have installed 2 of the Lone Wolf 10mm barrels. They definitely increase the accuracy over the factory Glock barrels. They also fully support the chamber to avoid the Glock bulge on a fired case. The main difference I have seen is the actual chamber is much tighter than a Glock barrel. In the 10mm, my normal "max" load fired in a Glock barrel works great. Shoot the same max ammo in the LW barrel, and I'm seeing some pressure signs and increased slide force to the rear. I back that load down some. I also had a few rounds not chamber and hang up going into the LW barrel. The tighter chamber also decreases the reliability of the pistol. I like them, but when I had some hang up and not chamber, I just didn't want to use it as my main carry pistol with that barrel in there.

No, but I am considering a Wilson Combat Glock replacement barrel.

An unethical shot is one you take, that you know you shouldn't.

If going to an after market barrel, I would ask questions about the chamber of the barrel from the mfg. I would not recommend a tight or match chamber in a Glock. Tighter tolerances in a pistol always decreases reliability. It will help it shoot tighter, no doubt. But I've never had an accuracy issue with my stock Glock's.

Also, I had 2 LW barrels- one for a G29 and one for a G20.

I do shoot a bit, Bullfrog...but I'm wanting a replacement so I can shoot my handloads safely.

Chad, my pet load is a max charge of Bullseye behind a 230 grain ball round either hard cast or plated. Been shooting it for years through my 1911's and it's a honey of a load. Been shooting the same load in the 21 (with plated bullets) and it's lights out accurate, though I'd feel better shooting that load out of a button rifled barrel with more case support. From what you're saying, it sounds like I may end up having to reduce the load if I go with the new barrel.

Not sure until you tried it. But a 45 ACP max load at 21K psi is different than a 10mm max load at 37K+ psi. There's a lot more room for cushion on the 45 ACP when it comes to pressure.

Roger that. Just put one on order, they're cheap enough to try out and LW seems to have a decent return policy.

How comparable was the accuracy to the stock barrel?

I tested it at 25 yards. The groups were tighter with the LW barrel. The Glock groups with my loads shot very well already. The FTF issues I had were what scared me away. The gain in accuracy was not work the risk of the FTF. I forget how many there were, but there were several during the few mags I put down range. Now, I'm self admittedly not the best pistol shooter. But I fired them slow fire from a supported rest on my arms with my hands free. So groups were shot as best as I can do.

Also, my Glock G40 in 10mm is my favorite Glock. That is one BAD pistol. I've shot a rabbit with it at a measured 32 yards with a 200 XTP out the front of a Polaris. It's a hammer of a pistol.

Chad do you know all of their aftermarket barrels are fully supported?

I looked into getting one as glock says you cant shoot cast bullets though theirs, but decided to just load jacketed bullets. If the aftermarket barrels are fully supported and can shoot cast I think I will look back into one.

Glock also says not to shoot reloads......

Shoot some leads through your barrel and see how it does.. I have seen thousands of leads shot through a few glocks, and only seen one of them lead badly. Decent chance your gun will be fine

Well, it's on the way so we'll see how it does. I may be looking for a solution to a problem that most likely won't occur in the first place. I use quality brass, triple check my charges and don't over crimp. The pistol gets taken apart and detail cleaned after each outing so maybe I'm just being a tad anal about everything. I've been shooting 1911's for more years than I care to remember and just recently got heavily into this 21. I really like it so far.

It's not that Glocks will lead up. But the fact the Glock uses polygonal rifling and it does not stabilize a lead bullet like typical rifling will. I used to shoot the 135 grain copper platted bullets out of my G35 in competition. They shot well. But I knew a few IDPA shooters who loaded some 165 or 180 grain lead bullets and they tumbled all the way to the target. Not sure of all the other barrels mfg for Glocks, but the LW were fully supported.

Like Chad I've used many of the Lone Wolf Alpha Wolf barrels. I put one in every 10mm Glock I buy. I don't shoot reloads but this barrel allows me to shoot any 10mm load I want without any leading issue and with a fully supported chamber so I shoot heavy Underwood and Buffalo Bore thru it. Not only that, but I always opt for the threaded barrel as well another option you can't have with a factory barrel. I've always found accuracy to be superb with them and have never ever had an issue with their barrels.

Speaking of a Glock 21 10 mm conversion, does anyone have any experience with that?

I know I have had at least 1 or 2 10mm conversions in a .45 Glock. But honestly, I don't remember if I ever shot the 10mm conversion. I do tend to keep my .45's .45 and my 10's 10 now. That's probably more as a justification to have more guns though than any issue (which I can't even remember) with the conversion barrels.
