Shot a big boar last afternoon. He didn’t give me a good angle, so I didn’t drop him, but I expect it was a killing shot (eventually). Too dim to find blood, or the hog, so I was going to have a look this morning. Snow was not in my planning. Well, I wasn’t planning to eat him anyway, so just plain dead is good enough.

Yeah, I'm near Austin so I took a photo of the snow falling last night around 11PM (it amounted to a light dusting) and sent it to my hunting buddy near Galveston.
His response was basically "Heck no, we don't go hunting in that stuff! That's when we sit in side and pour another cup of coffee!"

The hogs will still be there the next day or so …

You can never have too much ammo unless you're swimming.

We got maybe an inch in southern Limestone County. Mostly gone now.

If I pig runs off and I can't find him, I just look for the buzzards about mid day the next day. We keep our buzzards so well fed, that they are always around. I had one land on a coyote that I shot less than 5 minutes after the shot. LOL.
