Overall I think it’s going to turn out ok. I’m horrible at following instructions so it’s less than perfect. On thing to note, if you’re going to spray past and not change directions on the stock one can is not enough. Another tip is to use an undercoat that’s a similar color. It really helps with coverage, or the appearance of. It’s still drying and I have to buy another can to finish but I think it’s going to look good.

What brand of paint did you use and where did you purchase it? BTW I think you have done a nice job. It inspires me to give it a shot myself.

I put this in the wrong forum. Ask the mods to move it. But here’s the paint from Home Depot. It’s indoor/outdoor.

I used a sandable primer for two coats first sanding with 400 between.

Did you spray a sealer over it and do you recommend one?

No sir I didn't seal it. I did sand it down good so the paint would stick. It's held up well so far.
Its very grippy as is, I've wondered if a sealer would change that.
If it ever starts coming off, I'll just repaint it.

I decided to not worry about the second coat but it’s a good 20 footer as they say. A second coat will likely fill in where I changed it from right hand to left. Time to stick the scope on and go shoot.

Looks good wp.
Krylon makes a webbing paint that looks like the web pattern on a Bell&Carlson stock. Might look good on your tan stock

I’ve considered it and still am. My mistake was looking on amazon. There’s too many options. Someone told me Hobby Lobby has all that in stock. I did hit it with 1000 sandpaper when I was done. Looks the same but took some of the grit down. Feels much better. It came out tan I guess because of the gray primer. I can tell another coat will darken it up a good bit. Which I’m not sure I want now.

Yeah, this.
