Nice bucks. Good pic. Was that with your p1000 and how far away was it? That was with the 900 and I pretty much had it maxed out. Bad light, truck was running and I was at the end of my focal range, not a picture I'm happy with but at least I got a pic.
Yes! A Weatherby does kill them deader.

Do you suppose we are seeing deer now due to things getting quiet now and they notice it? Im not sure that there ARE more sightings now except in this one example. If there are then I would not think its because of less pressure. I would just think they got hungrier. But my opinion may not count for much since we do not pressure our deer much. I don't know Hiwayman but from what I recall about some of his history on here I would be surprised if his deer are pressured much at all(correct me if wrong.) Only taken 1 buck in the last two years.

Their internal clock knows and yep January/Feb they are out for groceries (plus it is usually consistently colder all night)

I went out and bought a crossbow two weeks ago so I can ambush the deer next October before they disappear!
I typically see the best bucks of the year (on my property) in late October, first week of November and then again Post Rut (muzzle loader season).
Spartans ask not...how many, but where!
