So I am only in the san Antonio area until the end of April for the Navy. Looking to get in a hog hunt and or a Rio hunt. Born and raised hunting in Maryland, deer and ducks are not on the top of my list. Anyone willing and or able to give some tips or info on how, or where, or with who, would be greatly appreciated. my goal is to take each with my bow.
The Navy is sending me to san Diego in May, so I'm trying to get as much hunting in as possible. San Diego isnt the top choice for hunting.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Tyler

Curious. What is a Rio hunt?
I have lived in Texas since 1959 and have never heard of it.

Welcome to Texas and thank you for serving. I'll out myself upfront as a non-bow hunter... I've turkey hunted from a pop-up several times, it's great fun and taking a Turkey with an arrow is quite doable. Can you hog hunt with a bow? Sure, have some arrows you want to get rid of? They are VERY resilient and besides the economic impact of an arrow running away, most commercial hunting places will charge you for a dead hog even for a non-fatal sticker. Go someplace where they can give you a thermal night hunt, you'll love it. Post this is in the outfitter section. https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/forums/16/1/outfitters-guidesCharlie
