Was cleaning out one of my toolboxes today and ran across these: Anyone remember this broadhead? It was the first mechanical head I ever saw. Circa 1988-1989.

The Spitfire was introduced in 1997. The Vortex pictured above was introduced in 1998. Looks like they are still in business. I shot a few deer with them back in the day, and they performed well. I do remember having to double O-ring them when I stepped up to a faster bow (seems like it was a BowTech Mighty Mite).

IIRC the first mechanicals were made in the 50's. Here are my first mechanical broadheads I used back in 1992 or 93. Puckett's Blood Trailer mounted on an Easton TruFlite Camo 2219 aluminum shaft. I do not remember deer with one but did kill hogs with them.

You kids and those fancy gadgets. If I want to turn back the clock, I look at my old Savora heads with some Satellites in the box. Mid 70's man.

My first broadheads were Super Hilbres in 1965. Followed by Bear Razor Broadheads. Switched to Savors when I bought my first compound bow, a Polar Bear LTD.

Here's another blast from the past. I still a couple of arrow boxes with a bunch of old arrows I've used over the years. This is a pretty early carbon arrow and a fluted aluminum arrow. They're from probably the late 80's to early 90's.
