I mean a string of them, right over me, lowest I ever seen like 20 or 30 yard shot would have been. I passed, can’t be bothered shooting them any more. The meat is so tough. Shot 2 earlier this season, clean all silver skin off, I was hopping to find a tender meat never did. You can have them.

I saw the same thing during the 1st dove split on public ground. It was a cloudy low overcast morning and a large flight of sandhills flew right over me. I've never seen a flight that low. It was an awesome sight to see.

I dont shoot many geese, just flybys while duck hunting.
I've got a meat grinder and grind then up, mix with 40-/50% ground beef and make meat loaf out of them. It's pretty good that way.

I was at the farm yesterday. !@#$% resident Canada geese were on the pond. I chase them off every chance I get. Sometimes as many as 25 and its hard to get them to leave. Had half a dozen canvasbacks also.

I had about 30 pelicans fly over today. Then they kept circling part of a large tank. Didn’t get as close as your geese did, but they wanted to land badly. Never seen that before.
I just turned it on . I was looking bird dogs in the butt this morning.

If I get the chance I choot 'em cuz they make good jerky. Liquid marinade after they're sliced is the key tho. Plenty of time in there, then on the dehydrator, finished up with an hour or two of smoke.

Breast them out. In the morning put in the crock pot and submerge in beef broth. Turn on high for 6 hours. Fish them out and use a fork to shred like pull apart BBQ and set aside. Make a pan of brown gravy and stir the shredded goose in. Simmer 30 minutes. Make a pan of mashed potatoes. Toast some Texas Toast. Smear the mashed poatatoes on the toast and top liberally with the goose that is smothered in brown gravy for Goose Manhattan. You won’t let them fly after that!
