We are going to plant sunflower seeds this year in San Saba county. Leaning native because they reseed and we used peredovic in Palo Pinto and were disappointed. Any suggestions like when to plant? Also, will deer eat the sunflowers?

A little late already. Should plant in November. Would probably still work now.

Deer do not eat native sun flowers but will tear up the others

Planted these a few weeks ago. Doing good so far, birds ate most of the seed before it could grow.
