I had the real pleasure of hunting with an old friend (Kolton Moore) and harvested this beautiful native Texas Hill County buck. First evening we set in a blind and watched as turkey, smaller bucks, does, a herd of aoudad (one of which was massive, 33"+) and pigs came in. We spotted this guy but he would not come to within bow range so I finally let go of a bolt on one of the pigs hoping this guy would come back the next morning. The next morning was cold, rainy, dark and still had that long walk to the blind. Made myself think I really have to love this to put myself through this. We got situated in the blind, BTW I brought my rifle with me this time just in case the same situation happened and he didn't come within bow range. As morning broke we had quite a few deer (bucks & does), turkey, one lone massive bruiser of an aoudad, all around us. The aoudad was at 35 yards and stayed perfect quartered away for the longest of time. I have 3 aoudads already but this guy was just making it so tempting. Finally after what seemed forever we spotted this deer again through the brush. He was smart, stayed in the brush and waited forever, but finally I guess hunger over took him. He came in but stayed out of bow range, grabbed the trusty 28 Nosler and took him. What a beautiful main frame 8, exactly what I wanted. I can not say enough positives about Kolton Moore with Safari Specialist. Beautiful lodge, beautiful properties, awesome animals (as described and promised) just an over all great adventure. He and Dalton Bannister run a top notch outfitters company, highly recommend them, please look them up on Facebook and give them an opportunity to put you on your dream hunt...….
