Curious as what to put in as a flooring in my Gunnar Kennel for transportation to the field, I know Gunnar offers their orthopedic bed, but I am looking for other options. I have thought of a horse stall mat or commercial kitchen mat, but other ideas are welcome.

Thick rubber mat or nothing. Why do you want something in there "for transportation to the field"? Isn't that what the kennel is for?

Sorry should've clarified more, but I want something that provides a little bit of traction for the dog.

I usually keep fresh wheat straw in mine.

Outdoor floor mat.

Buy a mat from tractor supply or throw some hay in there. If they’re not sleeping in it on cold nights I wouldn’t put anything in there.

My dogs chew up mats. I’ve used wheat straw in winter for years, recently changed to Bermuda hay. It’s not as messy. In summer, bare floor.
A lot of the rubber matting is made from shredded tires. It could have shredded steel also.

I buy the thicker yoga mats, and cut them to the right size.

Shopping with your husband is like hunting with the game warden.
Experience is what you get, when you didn't get what you wanted.

Tractor Supply stall mat cut to size. Provides some insulation, dog can't destroy it. It will last for years. Any stuffed bedding will get ripped. If the dog sleeps in kennel overnite and needs insulation use straw or bermuda hay. They prefer it to pillows, and dog beds.
