I can tell you from personal experience that this is 100% spot on. In Elementery school and early Jr. High, I got in a bunch of fist fights over my name.By the time I hit High School and College, it was a novelty and great fun at parties! My given name is Michael Hunt, but everyone calls me Mike.

Just to let you know, you were the artist to shirts that go made every year for our football game with our rival. The shirts naturally were sold off campus.

There is a realtor in Kerrville named Dick Rubright. I’m sure he pronounces it Roo-bright but still

And a local funeral home owner is named Dick Tipps.

You just can’t make this stuff up :

Worked for nearly a decade with a Richard Dick. He got teased a LOT in school... "Dick Dick" "Rich Dick" etc., so he began going exclusively by his initials R.L. Dick. Wouldn't tell anyone that R stood for Richard. Was 6 or 7 years of working with him before I heard his Mom call him Richard and the cat was out of the bag. His go to line if anyone asked what RL stood for was "Real Long".

40 something years ago I had a friend named Andy Dick. His dad was named Richard, and was a Urologist. He introduced himself to me as Dick Dick the dick doc. He loved doing that to see what people would do

Another guy was Harold Fish and went by Harry.

Went to school with twins. Kevin and Michael Hunt.

I bet Mission Park buries about 1/2 or more of the city.

I bet he could play his name into all kinds of creative ad campaigns.

Grew up next to John Crapper, my dad always laughed about that.
My Grandpa was named Benjamin Franklin Brothers
His brothers were all named after presidents and famous people like that. Thomas Jefferson Brothers, can't remember the rest but all were funny to us as kids.

The new names are ridiculous...here is one... JK MN...pronounced Noel.
