I’m posting this just Incase any one gets drawn in the future they can search the forum and find something on it. I just got done with an either sex white tail hunt at inks lake state park and it was great! There where 6 hunters. All hunters arrive at the maintenance area at 10am the first day to draw for stands and go through orientation. After that the first hunt starts at two. The first evening I killed a good doe 5 minutes before legal shooting light ends and another hunter shot a little buck. The state park staff are all nice and make sure you have everything you need to clean and quarter your deer as well as providing ice. The next morning came and the hunt start at 6am and end at 11am. Then evening the evening hunt starts at 2pm. 4 out of 6 people saw deer. Overall it was fun despite the warmer weather. I basically had the whole park to my self and it’s just beautiful country and good fishing at the lake. Overall a good experience and I’d say you have decent chances at taking home some venison. Do you know if any one hunted the Longhorn Caverns area? It used to be part of the Inks Lake hunt area. I assume Park staff placed & retrieved the hunters from the blinds with that small a group. Thanks for the report. Ron

So they won't let you sit all day even if you want to?

I’m sure they would let you if you wanted too. So they won't let you sit all day even if you want to? I’m sure they would let you if you wanted to do that.

That's a great park and beautiful area to camp with the family. I put in every year there and have yet to be picked. Congrats on a successful hunt.

That is one beautiful state park. Glad to hear that it was a success. I've done the state park hunts before. EVERYONE went out of their way to make sure we all had good, safe, fun hunts.
Life is too short, as is. Don't chance it. Don't text and drive.
