I've seen a texas flag on the bottom of a pool.

Nope, his post is with respect to the US flag, not the Great State of Texas flag. Go for it - heck put all six flags of Texas on your couch. Will make for some great conversation.

The fact that you asked pretty much answers your question. Yes, I would say it is disrespectful. I wouldn’t do it just because I love Texas.

This. Most people just ignore the actual rules, but you really shouldn’t.
Most who leave out their flags at night do not illuminate and on and on....

Don't disrespect the flag - intentionally or unintentionally. Rely on your instincts. If you have to ask, don't do it. There is a reason you went out and asked this and that's because you knew it might be an issue.

First, he posted rules for the American flag, not the Texas flag JP is asking about.

Second, the American Legion says it’s fine to wear articles of clothing that look like the American flag, such as a bathing suit or shirt.

Unless an article of clothing is made from an actual United States flag, there is NO breach of flag etiquette whatsoever. People are simply expressing their patriotism and love of country by wearing an article of clothing that happens to be red, white, and blue with stars and stripes. There is nothing illegal about the wearing or use of these items.

I think it's disrespectful but let your conscience be your guide.
