Doing a 'freshen up' on kitchen. I want to replace the existing countertop and it is glued with I guess construction adhesive. House is 1969, current countertop probably went on sometime between 1985 and 2009 by previous owner. Any suggestions how to work this thing loose without breaking up the cabinets? Also, any suggestions on countertop guys/gals near me in Terrell?

Pull drawers and shelve and look for screws underneath. remove them and break the adhesive with a hammer and pry bar. Go slowly to keep from breaking the stretchers.

I've installed countertops in well over 100 homes.

I've torn out dozens of old countertops.

Pry bar, hammer and 5 in 1 tool.

Remove some of the laminate and make sure it's not screwed down.

If nailed just pry it loose.

Just be careful and try to pry on the vertical cabinet face frame.
