I always made my own spaghetti sauce for years with tomatoes from my garden. I put it up in pint size bags and froze it. It had about the same color and texture as Colts chili. I used my last bag awhile back. Never tried the store bought sauce. Saw some Paul Newman brand on a neighbors counter one time.
Need help. Beast store bought spaghetti sauce please?

HEB makes a pretty good sauce, I'm sure when you get into the $8 a jar stuff those will be mind blowing changes.

Made my own once and it was really good, I enjoyed it, but if I was going to make much of it I need to plant a lot more tomatoe bushes. Not to mention if you follow a recipe from the internet etc. you can buy jared sauces cheaper than the spices to make your own.
I use a variety of the HEB branded sauces, like the ones with mushrooms best.

The bride has been buying Bertolli lately that we really like! Got this but on Claudia Cortes advice instead of your wife. Plan to cook it for diner tomorrow. It has the same ingredients as my homemade sauce had.

We normally go with Newman’s My great grandmother made her own, best I’ve ever tasted Hers would be a super thin sauce. Wish I could have got that recipe, nobody knows how she made it

Mix equal parts of the store brand marinara sauce and your favorite store brand of picante sauce.

Looks GREAT just like that. Thanks a bunch for your kind words. The snobs or trolls are the few who have never taken the time to post a food picture. I'm stuffed. It came out fine. The cayenne put just a little sting on the tip of my tongue. The mushrooms took on the texture of a tenderloin. I had it with a cauliflower dish from Omaha Steaks that I had gotten as a gift, and garlic bread. Don't think that I will ever make scratch again. I used the final crumbs of my Parmesan cheese. Need to get more before before I start on my leftovers. Do you grate your own or use the Kraft that comes out of a box?

I have a package of frozen root vegetables from the Omaha steaks gift. Plan the put half package into the pot and have what I call marinara premivera. .

Most deer hunters have trouble finding dinner recipes for their smoked links. Simply slice the in half inch slices and cook them in spaghetti sauce. This is good over pasta or rice. thank me later.

I would never eat spaghetti again if I had to eat it with sauce out of a jar. Ever. Sauce is so simple to make. Get some stewed tomatoes, tomato sauce, spices you like and other stuff you like. Make on stove. I like to scalled mine, but most don’t like that. Or just dump it all in a crock pot and let simmer all day. Pure goodness. Make a big batch and freeze it.

Did that for years except used tomato paste rather than tomato sauce. Tomato sauce is the same as as tomato paste diluted 2 to 1. Look it up.
