I've always been a Bud Light, Dos Equis, Modelo Negra and Especial drinker. Started buying Michelob Ultra and keeping some bottles in the shop fridge (don't like the girly cans). I think the Ultra is a decent beer, but I'm not a micro brewery connoisseur.

There is an old joke about a similar lifestyle but I won't bore you with it.

I'm really not missing the carbs and sugar. I ate an apple this morning and have been picking up and burning sticks today. Got hungry about an hour ago and had a delicious dinner of JP's Beans and shrimp. Might eat some greens later.

It's been 3 plus weeks since I changed my diet. I feel better, have more energy and can tell a difference in my agility.

I like Ultra. It’s got a higher ABV than domestic light beers, too. The cans annoy me, so I also like the bottles. I think the way it’s marketed makes it seem like a girly beer, but it’s a good one.

The way your body processes alcohol isn’t great for losing weight, but still smarter to limit the amount of carbs per drink.

Try the Ultra Organic. Yeah, I know it sounds like some yuppie thing, but I think it tastes more like "real" beer than the regular Ultra.

Moscow Mule. Just a few oz. ginger beer couldn't have many carbs.

Canada Dry ginger ale has 23 carbs per can. It was shocking. This ginger beer has 35 grams of carbs per can, which is 15 grams more than some keto diets allow for an entire day.

Wife and I started a keto-ish diet back in the early fall and I dropped about 15 lbs. I was still under the Army's max weight for my height before I started, but just wanted to lighten the load a bit. I had no illusions about cutting out all carbs, so I didn't try. But I did cut them when I could (just eat the sandwich meat without the bread, etc. for lunch). I also began eating more nuts, fruits and veggies...all in moderate portions, and I threw in an occasional fast too. I cut out most beer and went to wine. On the beer side, I started drinking stronger ABVs (trappists and tripels) and drank fewer of them for the same effect.

I don't think you need to cut anything out wholesale. That's not realistic. Just be reasonable.

The other thing is that it's still simple math, regardless of what you eat. If you burn more than you take in, you'll lose weight.

Whiskey on the rocks is keto friendly but it will dehydrate you X2 on keto

I think Deep Eddy probably has sugar added. I am diabetic so I am watching carbs and sugar like a hawk. Regular vodka and Pellegrino is about as clean as it gets. If you're shooting for keto it might throw you out. Good luck.

That's a shock. Still, only a few oz would be a 6-9 carbs. Not a good choice.

I've done Keto once before, and on it currently. I really drop weight on it, like 7-10 lbs per week. I do it hard core for two weeks, then gradually back to a low carb diet over a week or so. I've learned that more than anything, its the booze that effects weight gain for me. When on Keto, it's zero alcohol, then maybe one serving on the weekend. This week it was a decent meal with the moscow mule I mentioned. BTW, "The Tavern" in Lakeside Village (Flower Mound) makes the best Moscow Mule I have ever had. My wife had a 7 & 7. She said it was like a glass of whiskey with a splash of 7 Up.
