What’s the main difference between production and limited?

If production, and say you’re shooting a 34, what’s the most you can do to it to stay production?

Just looked it up, looks like you’re just not allowed magwells or optics and only allowed 10 rounds in the mag because everything is scored minor.

Also looks like they changed the rules and stippling and undercuts are allowed just can’t make a makeshift magwell.

Glock 35

To the guy who wants to show up and watch the match, show up and shoot the match.

I showed up to watch a match back in 1994 and people kept walking up to me with guns, gear, and ammo telling me to go shoot. I said no, I am just watching. A guy walks over to the scorekeeping table, comes back, and says "I paid your match fee, you have no excuses now". I had a blast, and it started a gunpowder addiction that continues to this day.

Keep in mind that every Master and GrandMaster in the sport drove up to a match for the first time just like you will.

Not sure I understand your post. If you’re saying Glocks suck, then by all means share what pistol you shoot in competition. Thanks

Kyle, could you put a 40 cal barrel in the G34 to make it 40 cal? All you would need is mags at that point. Would that change the class or division at that point?

Nope I wish, can only go down can’t go up. You can put a 9mm barrel in 35 slide but not the other way around the 34 slide barrel opening won’t fit the circumference of the 40 barrel. I could probably find a 35 top end and slide it on the 34 frame since they’re the same.

It was most assuredly a joke. Sorry you’re a little tender today. I have no love for glocks but they are excellent guns. I have absolutely no skills or experience shooting pistol competitions.

Lol all good I really didn’t know if you were joking or not. That makes 2 of us, I’ve only shot one other pistol competition and that was with a 1911 single stack and did not do too well. Only competition I shoot is rifles. Pistols is a whole new beast to me.

This was going to be my suggestion. You already have the frame of the G34 set up the way you like it. Just grab a .40 long slide, barrel, and magazines.

That would be ideal, but I'm finding full G35 guns that are medium condition for around $350 and like new G35 Gen4's for around $415. All the complete slides are around $400. I'd rather just grab one of the full guns and mod it and have 2.

Some of the prices I've seen on the slides are crazy.

I looked at building a slide a couple times and it always was just about equal to the cost of a whole gun. Plus going from 9 to .40 you should really change the extractor.

New gun!!

Yes new gun, and I'm staying with Glock, just have too much experience with it. No sense in swapping platforms.

Planning on:

Glock 35 Gen 4
TTI Grand Master Connector Kit
TTI Ultimate Fiber Optic Sight Set
TTI Lightning Magwell
TTI +4 Extended Mag Bases (RED)
GS Super Heavy Tungsten Guide Rod and 15# spring
APEX Action Enhanced Trigger Kit (RED)
2000 rounds of 180gr ammo

Will still be able to use all my existing gear and will still be under the cost of a used STI.

Sounds like you got a plan. My favorite trigger to date in Glocks (and I’ve tried a bunch, including zev, Vogel, “the edge” etc) is the TTI kit and an overtravel stop. You can get an ejector housing with the OT stop screw off ebay/glockstore and others for about $15. That’s what I had in my gen 4 17 Carry Optics gun and had no complaints. I have not got my hands on the new hotness, Johnny Glock, so I can’t give an opinion on it.

I prefer the Dawson basepads; they’re a lot easier to take apart for cleaning and should hold the same (I think I got 19 in my g35–been awhile though). TTI makes good stuff, but I think the basepads are a pain.

Only other thing I would add to the list: practice.

I have 4 of DP base pads on my 34 mags and like them. Was just keeping it all the same, but the TTI pads do look like a pain. The DP are easy on easy off.

Yea I need a ton of practice.

Looks like the match has been canceled due to rain. Guess that gives me 2 weeks to get the G35 ready to roll!
