I was going through a card I recently pulled but hadn't had time to go through completely and found these pics. I assume he's from the high fence place across the road from us.

If one got out, it's just a matter of time until more get out.

Kill it and enjoy the venison. Dollar value of them is not much at that age. Cost more to catch it than you will get when you try to sell it.

I don't think I'd shoot a neighbor's high fence live stock.

Thump him, or keep running your feeders and see if you can get him to stick around for a couple more years and he should be significantly larger

Call your neighbor and tell him. You've just become a good guy in his mind. Then if someday you need some help, he might return the favor. Of course, he could say it's too much trouble to catch it, so go a head and shoot it.

I hunted several years near Brady and we had a really good population of free range Axis and Blackbuck. Those came from a few escapees from high fence places that people didn't immediately shoot. If you're interested in building a population, well you have to start somewhere...
Silver spurs and gold tequila keep me hanging on. Pretty girls and old cantinas give me shelter from the storm.

They called HF neighbor who said he lost 6 and couldn't keep chasing them, so if they got a shot, take it. No idea if any were ever taken though. I had several Axis on cameras on my place several years ago, but haven't seen since. Maybe they'll come back eventually.
