My 11 year-old son shot his first deer on New Year's Day in Hall County. After a couple of close calls with some young but respectable bucks, my boy decided to quit fooling around and took a nice 150 lb doe with a perfect quartering-to shot. Like my daughter's first deer 3 years ago (when she was also 11), this made my season. No shoulder mount obviously, but he gets a nice rug out of the deal and dad does all the work on the first one. The Good Lord blesses us every day, but this day was special.
